What you need to know about Huawei’s newly announced P40, P40 Pro and P40 Pro+

Despite the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, the Chinese giant launch schedule of it’s new flagships remained unchanged. The Huawei P40, P40 Pro and P40 Pro+ are the latest flagship phones from the manufacturer. The three share design aesthetics on the front and back with minor increments in features from one to the other maximizing out all features in the P40 Pro+.

These three rival Samsung’s recently unveiled S20 phones with promises of identical high performance with emission of Google Play Services in Huawei’s phones as Huawei is still restricted from using some of the products produced in the US as a result of the manufacturer allegedly violating security laws with relation to how it uses software and manages data. Therefore, for a near-stock Android user who relies on Google services a lot, these phones may be a tough sell. But for whoever needs a powerful device with great camera, any of these three is a worthy upgrade.

The phones feature a near bezel-less screen — an OLED capacitive screen rich in color saturation measuring in at 6.1 inches for the P40 with an 86.3% screen-to-body ratio, and 6.5 inches with a 91.6% screen-to-body ratio for both the P40 Plus and P40 Pro+. They all have a similar selfie camera cut-out in the top left side of the display that houses a 32 mega-pixel camera sensor along with a Time-of-Flight 3D sensor and an Infra-red sensor mainly for unlocking the phone using facial recognition technology, with this sensor being more secure compared to Face Unlock in many Android phones that relies on the selfie camera.
