Once one of the most popular device from Motorola, the Moto Razr has been rebooted with latest cutting edge display technology. The previous Moto Razr was a flip phone with T9 keyboard at the bottom and a small display at the top. The new device features a large 6.2 inch 2142 by 876 pOLED display that can be folded inside the phone leaving a small 2.69-inch gOLED 800 by 600 display on top.

The large display when unfolded works as a regular smartphone and when folded, the small display is used to do light actions like display notifications, play music, take selfies with the main camera and take voice commands using Google Assistant.

On the inside, the phone has a notch at the upper part of the display that houses multiple sensor including a 5 megapixel f/2.0 selfie camera whereas when folded a 16 megapixel main camera with f/1.7 aperture is revealed that’s can as well be used to take selfie when the device is folded. The bottom portion the phone houses display drivers alongside a physical fingerprint scanner.

Under the hood, the new Moto Razr is powered by Qualcomm’s mid-range Snapdragon 710 processor capable of handling normal tasks with ease backed by 6GB of RAM with 128GB on-board storage. It a bit unfortunate however that it runs on Android 9.0 Pie rather than the latest Android 10 which Motorola promises will come as an update shortly after the phone is released to customers. The phone also comes with a 2510mAh with 15W TurboPower charging which by today’s smartphone battery standards is considered small given the fact the phone sure has a large main display.

The new Moto Razr will retail for $1499 and will be available in the U.S. exclusively on Verizon Wireless, and worth noting that this phone doesn’t come with a sim-slot but an eSIM meaning if a user wished not to use Verizon, they’d need to contact another carrier with eSIM support technology. The phone will go on preorder starting December 26, 2019, and will go on sale in Verizon and Walmart stores and online on January 9, 2020. It will only be sold Noir Black color.
