Every major smartphone manufacturer today is gunning for the more screen on their latest phone. The Chinese maker ZTE is no exception. The ZTE Nubia Z18 is their latest offering. They are also striving for a more bezel-less form factor. What we see here is a phone that has a small cut-out for the camera on top and a very slim bezel on the bottom. The phone is claimed to have a 91.8% screen-to-body ratio. This has to be the largest we’ve seen.
The phone features a large edge-to-edge 1080×2160 IPS LCD display with a visible chin, a front 8 mega-pixel camera with f/2.0 aperture. On the back it has a dual camera set-up composed of a 16MP shooter with a f/1.6 aperture and a 24MP shooter with a f/1.6 aperture. The cameras are aided by camera AI within software for rich image quality. The finger-print scanner is located at the back too.
The Nubia Z18 is by no means a mediocre phone. This a very high-end device that packs the latest powerful internal specifications to guarantee it a spot along with the most powerful devices available.
Under the hood it spots the latest powerful Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor with Adreno 630 GPU backed up by either 6GB of RAM in the 64GB storage variant or 8GB of RAM in the 128GB storage version. Performance is top notch here. The phone does not come with a memory card slot though. It runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.
It comes with a 3,450mAh battery that supports Qualcomm QuickCharge 4.0.
The ZTE Nubia Z18 can be pre-ordered in China at CNY 2,799 (~$410) for the 6GB/64GB model, while the 8GB/128GB goes for CNY 3,299 (~$483). It’s available in black or red, with a Vincent van Gogh special edition going for CNY 3,599 (~$527).
