Xiaomi the Chinese smartphone maker known for releasing great budget phones is at it again this time with one of it’s most recent flagships. The Mi 9  from their main line Mi offers more for it’s predicted price than many flagships from other manufacturers we hope to see this year. This is a phone that is packed with top specs to compete favorably with the best of it’s rivals, the likes from Samsung. Also announced in the same time frame as Samsung’s S10, you might want to consider saving more for similar performance. The Mi 9 is build like a 2019 phone. That, implying far less bezels for a larger screen-to-body ratio, a premium body construction, record breaking fast wireless charging that provides faster charging speeds than many phones that charge while plugged in, and fewer ports.
However, it’s small tear-drop notch that houses the 20 mega-pixel f/20.0 front-facing camera module may look a bit dated by the end of this year.

On the front, the Xiaomi Mi 9 share a display type used in Samsung flagship phones. It’s 6.4 inch Super AMOLED capacitive display with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 known for providing high contrasts and sharp colors. Under the display at the bottom is a second generation finger-print sensor.
When flipped on it’s back the phone has a triple camera assembly that signifies Xiaomi’s attempt at three camera at the back of a phone. One is a massive 48 mega-pixel  f/1.8 lens to provide more detail to photos taken, a 16 mega-pixel f/2.2 ultrawide camera to fit many subjects in one shot and finally a 12 mega-pixel telephoto lens for taking clear shots of objects that are distant.

The internals of this device are nothing but the best a smartphone manufacturer today could put in a premium device. The 7 nano-meter Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chip powers this phone with 6GB of RAM in the 64GB storage model and 8GB of RAM in the 128GB storage model. Unfortunately, no memory card storage expansion is available here.
The device runs on MIUI 10, the latest iteration of Xiaomi’s Android based operating system that sits on top of the latest Android 9.0 Pie.
