Until a few months ago, Oppo’s Reno Ace held the record for charging it’s 4000mAh from 0 to 100% in half an hour using Oppo’s 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 fast charger. A few weeks ago Xiaomi teased it’s new 100W charging technology named Mi Charge Turbo. Mi Charge Turbo was showcased charging a 4000mAh battery from 0 too 100% in only 17 minutes crowing Xiaomi’s new technology the fastest smartphone charging technology above all.

It’s worth noting 100W is so powerful most laptops hardly use such powerful chargers to charge their batteries. Such fast charging technology also cause heat issues while charging and potentially weakens battery performance over a period of time. Hopefully Xiaomi addresses these issues.

Xiaomi is set to launch this new fast charging technology in its upcoming Redmi K30 come December 10. It’s reported to support 5G connectivity as well. The rest of details about this new device shall be provided then.
