Ever since Nokia announced its return through HMD Global (Finnish Company affiliated with Nokia) , it has unveiled a series of Android smartphones mostly mid-range and of course the famous Nokia 3310 version 2 and here again, this month (October), it launched Nokia 7 which comes handy with 4/6GB RAM and a midrange Qualcomm Snapdragon Chipset first launched in China for obvious reasons… China has the largest market and so if your gadget checks in and ‘heats’ up, then you are sure of success!
The phone is expected to be available on 24th October, 2017.
But before you get excited about it, and in any case you wish to have it when it hits your local market, here are the relevant details you need to know :
Network
The phone supports GSM, CDMA, HSPA, and EVDO among others, implying that it can practically be used in any country where such networks are supported which is virtually anywhere.
The 2G bands widths include GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 and 1900 for both SIM 1 and SIM 2, and CDMA 800 and TD-SCDMA
3G bands include HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 and CDMA 2000 and EVDO
4G bands are LTE band 1(2100),3(1800),5(850),8(900),34(2000),38(2600),39(1900),40(2300) and 41(2500)

Body and Display
Of course we all know where we started from for as long as phones are concerned, from bulkiness to being portable, a little wide but sleek! And the Nokia 7 follows the same trend, although not yet there ( i mean the bezeless phone) none the less :, the phone measures 141.2 by 71.5 by 7.9 mm ( isn’t this slim enough?, at least).
The weight is currently unknown but don’t expect bulkiness. It’s built, front and back with glass and Aluminum frame (7000 series) and this will imply gentleness when handling the phone or else you maybe replacing hardware sooner. It carries a Hybrid dual Nano-SIM, dual stand-by, so in places where people use two lines almost with equal measures, are already covered.
The phone is also IP54 certified meaning it’s dust and splash resistant.
It has an IPS LCD capacitive touch screen, with 16M colors.
It’s 5.2 inches, 74.5cm² with an approximate 73.8% screen to body ratio, ( i should admit that this is enough for a mid-range phone). Screen resolution is at 1080 x 1920 pixels, 16:9 ratio, approximately 424ppi density. The screen supports multi-touch and it’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
System and Processor
The phone comes in with Android 7.1.1 ( Nougat), planned to upgrade to Android 8.0 (Oreo)… (We hope this will be soon), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset, an octa-core 2.2GHz Cortex A53 for CPU and GPU of Adreno 508, so hope to have a pretty fast phone in its category.
Memory
64GB of internal memory with 4/6GB RAM is enough but the phone also supports a microSD card slot of up to 256 GB and this utilizes the SIM 2 slot.
Camera
The rear camera is equipped with 16MP, at f/1.8, with a phase detection autofocus, Carl Zeiss optics, and dual LED flash. It has 1.12µm pixel size, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama and HDR. It Captures videos of 2160p at 30fps.
The front camera carries 5MP, f/2.0, autofocus and a 1.4 µm pixel size.
Sound
The phone supports vibration, MP3 and WAV ring tones. It has a loudspeaker and a 3.5mm jack with an active noise cancellation as long as you have a dedicated mic.
Communications
The phone supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual band, Wi-Fi Direct and Hotspot, comes with one the most recent Bluetooth 5.0, A2DP, LE,. GPS enabled with A-GPS, GLONASS, and BDS. It also supports NFC implying that you can do contactless payments, transfer files, videos or photos with ease. And if you are kind of person who is still in need of analogue radio stations, well, Nokia 7 just got you covered by still maintaining an FM radio as a system app.
Nokia 7 joins other big brands to ship in with Type-C 1.0 reversible connector, and USB On-the-go.

Nokia 7 comes with a rear mounted fingerprint sensor, has an accelerator, gyro, proximity, and compass sensors, so you can’t lose the North wherever you are.
Threaded view SMS, MMS, Email, Push Mail and IM to keep track of those important messages that need utmost encryption.
Also embedded in the phone is an HTML 5 browser, fast battery charging, Document viewer, photo/video editor, MP3/WAV/eAAC+/FLAC player, so you need few third-party apps to play most of the videos or music. It also comes with an MP4/H. 264 player.
Battery
For a mid-range phone from a big name company like Nokia, 3000mAh non-removable Li-ion battery is genuinely enough, capable of giving you up to 340 hours on 3G on stand-by, Talk time of up to 15 hours and 85 hours of playing music.
Lastly, the phone comes in two colors : Gloss Black and Matt White at $377 and $407 for that with 4GB and 6GB RAM respectively.
