In an age where the average computer that can virtually do anything uses from 4GB to 8GB of RAM, smartphone manufactures have gone as far as putting the same amount of RAM and recently up to 10GB of RAM in a single phone. What would the aim of giving a phone that much RAM be, you may ask? Well, many believe it partly to do with a manufacturer’s desire to be known as having done something first and therefore having their device perceived as one of the most powerful available and also the other factor that some put that much RAM in their phones for a purpose of being able to handle intense functionality for example games.

Many of the phones we are about to look at herein are aimed at gaming and many have a justification to have 10GB of RAM but this does not imply a phone that ships with less RAM may not perform as good. The Razer Phone for example is probably the best gaming phone available that does not ship with so much RAM as this. In fact, 4GB RAM in a phone today is just enough to support a very high-end phone, the Pixel 3 for example.

This much RAM however guarantees that a phone, even when it ships with a highly modified Android skin that are known to require more RAM for better performance should perform fluidly without any lag even when a very high resource intense application is thrown at them given that they are powered by a good processor.

These are some of the phones released this year with a whooping 10GB of RAM.
