Google’s major Oct. 4 event held every year is a Google’s hardware event aimed at showcasing the latest Google has had it’s hands on. It is a ‘made by Google’ event. We first witnessed this event last year when Google unveiled a number of products the main of which were the new Google Pixel and Pixel XL that succeeded the Nexus line of smartphones. Unlike the Nexus phones that got another manufacturer’s branding at the back, we are led to believe the Pixel smartphones are made by Google and in fact bare the Google logo.

On this same event we see other major hardware products and improvements in the already existing products from Google like Google Home, Tablets and Chromebook and their OS among others.

This time still we expect similar products and possibly more. We expect to see the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL to be the stars of the show. We’re also expecting big new announcements for Google Home, as well as the debut of an ultra-premium Chromebook.

Talking a little bit about the Pixel phones, images of these devices have been circulating all over the web that strongly suggest the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will look exactly as depicted.

The slight variation in design between the two, as many have pointed out, is as a result of HTC being behind the actual manufacturing of the Pixel 2 thus picking the looks of the new HTC U11, and LG being behind the Pixel 2 XL hence the thin bezels a similar form factor we saw in the LG G6. More about these devices will be given at the unveil event in a few hours.
